The Fuzzy Logic Home Page

Fuzzy Logic is a two-headed, four-legged singer/songwriter also known as Liz Sumner and Michael Cohen. She's the singer, he's the songwriter, and together they'll convince you that two heads are better than one.

Pick a genre. Fuzzy Logic has a song that fits it-- folk ballad, jazz waltz, tin pan alley torch song, or new age novelty number. As soon as you think you've got 'em figured out they'll surprise you.

Michael's been playing guitar and writing music for decades. Some of his heroes include Joni Mitchell, Brian Wilson, Leonard Bernstein, and Gilbert & Sullivan. Liz grew up harmonizing with her sisters, listening to scratchy old big band records of Frank & Ella, and picking out the backup lines to Top 40 hits.

In 1988 Michael and Liz formed the band Lip Service along with Bobbi Vollendorff and Glenn Austin. They performed at festivals and coffee houses across the Pacific Northwest. Their music could be heard on radio programs in the greater Seattle area, and they appeared on Sandy Bradley's Potluck, broadcast nationwide on NPR. Michael and Liz have placed highly in songwriting competitions and both were Kerrville finalists in 1993.

Lip Service recorded two albums of original music, "Love & Romance Game" and "Like Magic" produced by guitar master, Rick Ruskin, at Lion Dog Studio in Seattle.

In 1994 Michael and Liz decided to move to New England and settled in Marlborough, NH. They discovered the area's thriving folk music scene and became a part of it as Fuzzy Logic. Their first cd as a duo, Doing The Best I Can, was released in May 2000.
